Child Dedication is a meaningful opportunity for parents to publicly commit to raising their child in a Christ-centered home and guiding them toward a growing relationship with Jesus. Whether you’re dedicating an infant, toddler, or older child, we would be honored to celebrate this important step with your family.
What Is Child Dedication?
Child Dedication is a special moment when parents publicly commit to raising their child to know and follow Jesus. During the dedication, our church family also commits to encouraging and supporting parents as they help their child grow in a relationship with Jesus.
Child Dedication is not baptism, nor does it provide salvation. Instead, it is a commitment by parents to model a Christ-centered life, teach their child about Jesus, and intentionally nurture their spiritual growth.
A Commitment for Parents
During the ceremony, parents publicly commit to raising their child under God’s instruction, modeling a Christ-centered life, and creating a home where faith can grow. As part of that commitment, parents are choosing to:
- Model a growing relationship with Jesus
- Teach their child about God and His Word
- Pray for and encourage their child
- Create a home where faith is part of everyday life
- Help their child take their own steps of faith as they grow
Child Dedication is a dedication of both the child and the home, expressing a family’s desire to walk with God together and intentionally raise their child in faith.
What to Expect
Before Dedication Sunday, parents are required to attend a brief meeting where we’ll explain the meaning of Child Dedication, walk through what will happen during the service, and answer questions.
On Sunday, families will arrive early and meet in a designated area before the service. Specific meeting times and arrival details will be provided when you register.
