Our Core Beliefs and Biblical Foundations

At StoneBridge, our desire is to lead people into a real, healthy, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  The following are the core Christian beliefs that guide our mission, shape our values, and help us live out our faith every day.

About God

God is the Creator of everything and the ultimate authority over the universe. Christians believe that God has always existed as one God in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. These three are distinct, yet fully unified and equal. This belief in the Trinity helps us understand God’s nature, his relationship with people, and his presence in our lives.

About jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and an essential part of the Christian faith. Christians believe Jesus is co-equal with God the Father and lived a fully human, yet sinless life. He willingly gave His life on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. After three days, Jesus rose from the dead, showing His power over sin and death. He later ascended into heaven, and Christians believe He will return one day to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

About the holy spirit

The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity, co-equal with God the Father and Jesus the Son. Christians believe the Holy Spirit is actively present in the world, helping people recognize their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also lives within every believer from the moment of salvation. He gives power for daily living, helps us understand spiritual truth, and guides us to make wise and right choices. The Holy Spirit equips each Christian with spiritual gifts to serve others and build up the Church. As followers of Jesus, we seek to live each day led by the Spirit.

About the bible

The Bible is God’s Word, written for us and to us. Christians believe it was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is our ultimate source of truth for what we believe and how we live. Because it is inspired by God, the Bible is completely trustworthy and without error. It helps us know who God is, how He works, and how we’re called to live in response.

About salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God, offered to everyone and received through faith in Jesus Christ. No amount of good works or self-improvement can earn it, we are saved only by trusting in Jesus and accepting His offer of forgiveness. When we turn from a self-centered life and place our faith in Jesus, we are saved from the penalty of sin and given new life. Eternal life doesn’t start someday in the future, it begins the moment we say yes to Jesus and receive Him by faith.

About human beings

People are created in the image of God and designed to reflect His character. Every person matters deeply to God and is the most valued part of His creation. We were made with incredible potential and purpose. But all of us struggle with a natural tendency to go our own way instead of following God, what the Bible calls “sin.” This brokenness separates us from God and brings hurt into our lives and the world around us.

About eternal security

When someone truly puts their faith in Jesus Christ, their salvation is secure forever. Eternal life is a gift from God, not something we can earn or lose through our own effort. Our security doesn’t come from being good enough, it comes from God’s grace and His power to hold on to us. Once we are genuinely saved, we are kept by God’s promise, not by our performance. This assurance brings peace, confidence, and lasting hope.

About eternity

Every person was created to live forever. According to the Bible, we will spend eternity either with God or separated from Him. Eternal separation from God is what the Bible describes as Hell. Eternal life with God, made possible through forgiveness and salvation in Jesus, is what the Bible calls Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real, eternal destinations. What we believe and how we respond to God’s offer of grace matters not just for this life, but for eternity.
