The new year has begun and ‘til the season for new year’s resolutions.  For some people that means committing to better financial responsibility, strengthening relationships and for even more people that means hitting up the gym.  Andy Savage posed a good question on Facebook about how we make new year’s resolutions to “renew the mind toward a more hopeful and optimistic outlook”, but he went on to mention that, through Christ, we have that reason all the time. You don’t need a new year to make a change, you need Christ.

In my Jesus Calling devotional for January 1st it said, “A close walk with Me is a life of continual newness. Do not cling to old ways as you step into a new year. Instead, seek My Face with an open mind, knowing that your journey with Me involves being transformed be the renewing of your mind.”

Romans 12:2

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
