You may have noticed that we’ve been introducing a couple new songs in recent months, one of which being Carry Your Name. The song is beautiful musically and powerful in words. It opens in a somber reflectiveness of the beauty of all that Christ has done for us and builds somewhat to proclaim His great love.
But it doesn’t stop there.
We build into a frenzy to proclaim that, in honor of all that has been done for us, we will not sit idly. We will carry the name of Jesus to the world in every way that we can for every day that we are granted.

I will carry Your name
Carry Your name
Jesus,Your name forever
For all of my days
And all of my ways
Jesus, Your name forever

I’ve just wrapped up my study on the book of James and I’m a bit sad, to be honest. It has been an in-depth, educational, convicting and inspiring journey as I have learned of the life of James and his letter. James chapter 2 verses 14-26 have some good words about combining our faith with our actions because separated, they do not have a pure meaning that points to Christ, but together they can point nowhere else.

Sound the trumpet and bang the drum. Life can seem easy but there is always a spiritual battle going on and we need to be carrying the name of Christ with us into the fray every day.

This week I feel a particular conviction to jump back into the discipline of scripture of memorization so that I can be all the more prepared. In paring with Carry Your Name our verse this week is the following:

…so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:12 NASB)

His name forever,
