Peter writes, “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,”
I believe it is possible to love Jesus even though we don’t yet see him. I’ve really known that all my life.
But as I was reading that verse tonight, it struck me that I am experiencing love for someone I’ve never met.
My daughter Katy Ruth is in the last two weeks of pregnancy. Very soon we will get to hold in our arms our granddaughter, Melody Ruth Rogers. And though I’ve never seen her, I already love her.
I know that Jesus loves me and He knows that I love Him. But tonight He showed me that really loving someone you’ve never met is not nearly so far fetched as some might imagine.
Joy though faith.
