ALL YEAR 2010 for NOAH'S KIDS

Noah's Ark Club
is our group of Sunday Morning classes designed especially for babies, preschoolers and kindergartners.

Children aged birth - two years of age are in classrooms staffed by childcare staff members.  Our youngest children get consistent, loving care from our childcare staff.  These childcare staff members work our MDO program, our Bible Study Childcare programs, and our date nights.  Sunday morning classes are at 9:30AM and 11:05AM.  Children may attend one or both hours.  These classes are divided by developmental stages - Babies, Wobblers, Cruisers, and Climbers.  Children in these classes promote to a new class when they are developmentally ready throughout the year.

Children age 3 years - Kindergarten are in fun toy filled classrooms staffed by our wonderful parent volunteers.  During the school year, our children receive consistant attention and love from our teachers as they teach every Sunday for a semester.  Each week, children learn the Bible through hands-on Bible experiences that are contextually relavant and connected.  Our curriculum is written by our staff and utilizes the 12 Eras of the Bible.  Each year the children will learn the 12 Eras delving deeper each year and learning about more stories and characters as they get older through 6th grade.  Sunday morning classes are at 9:30AM and 11:05AM.  Children may attend one or both hours.  During the school year, we utilize parent volunteers through a rotation schedule to help support our teaching volunteers.  During the summer, we give our wonderful teachers a holiday and run our Sunday Morning program utilizing parent volunteers every Sunday.  For more information about our Parent Volunteer Program, LEARN MORE HERE.  The classrooms in the Preschool-Kindergarten Ministry area for children age 3- Kindergarten are divided by birthday and promote in August with the school year.  We do have two Kindergarten classrooms, children in these classrooms must be in Kindergarten to be in these classrooms.  Children in the Kindergarten classes will promote to the 1st grade classes upstairs to the ZooKids Ministry in August.   Children in the nursery ministry who are 3 when we promote in August will enter the Preschool classrooms.  The last day of summer (the weekend before promotion Sunday in August), we have a Kindergarten graduation.  Our Kindergarten children are given a prayer and sendoff from our younger children.  The Kindergartners are then taken upstairs to meet Mrs. Mindy (the ZooKids Director) and to see their new classrooms.

Family Devotionals
We hand out family devotionals on Sunday morning that coincide with the Biblical Era that we are covering at the time.  If you missed getting the devotional, come get it HERE.

Change for Tamina
Every Sunday morning there is a Large Coke Bottle Piggy Bank by the Welcome Check-in Desks. Children are encouraged to tithe their change and place it in this bottle. The money in this bottle goes to an after school ministry in Tamina for families who are mostly single parent and low income. The children who attend this ministry are fed, provided clothing and activities to keep them from getting in trouble while their parents are working. Many times these meals are the only food these children get. Tamina is a neighborhood across I-45, north of Oak Ridge.

Baby Dedication
is a ceremony held during a worship service where parents thank God for the gift of their child and commit themselves before the church family to raise their child under the instruction of the Lord in a Christian home. No water is used during a Baby Dedication Ceremony, nor is baptism implied.  There will be 4 Baby Dedication services during 2010.  They will be on the weekends of February 7, May 9, September 12, and November 14.  CLICK HERE to register your child for the next Baby Dedication ceremony.
