Affirmation Addiction?

When I live my life as if everything is about me, I fall into affirmation addiction. I have a dependency on others to validate me. So I am easily swayed, because without out others approval, I am undone.

@waynecordeiro: "We live in an age addicted to affirmation, but we're of a Kingdom & called to obey. Stay humble today.
Bring attention to Jesus alone."

Where does our confidence come from?

When our lives are about Jesus and His kingdom, our confidence comes from Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:4-5
Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,

If we live for our glory, we will need more affirmation .
If we live for his glory, we are set free.
Pride is a heavy burden, humility a light load.

2 Corinthians 4:7 says, "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all- surpassing power is from God and not from us.

We are "jars of clay," but we contain a great treasure from God Himself. To have been entrusted with the gospel is a great privilege. While I am "just" a vessel, I am purposed with the greatest mission ever given.

Not feeling quite as needy now,

Joe
