You Alone Can Rescue

I need to celebrate the gospel everyday. The course of my day is always better when I remember that because of Jesus my sins are forgiven and that His mercies are new every day.

This song, "You Alone Can Rescue," really helps me celebrate Salvation and our Savior. It was written by Matt Redman and is based on Galatians 1:4, which reads, (Jesus Christ) "who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,"

The first two lines of the song are all I need to put my heart and mind in the right place:

"Who, oh Lord, could save themselves,
Their own soul could heal?
Our shame was deeper than the sea
Your grace is deeper still"

(Here is the chorus and the rest of the song, including a link so you can hear it on youtube:

"You alone can rescue, You alone can save
You alone can lift us from the grave
You came down to find us, led us out of death
To You alone belongs the highest praise

You, oh Lord, have made a way
The great divide You heal
For when our hearts were far away
Your love went further still
Yes, your love goes further still

You alone can rescue, You alone can save
You alone can lift us from the grave
You came down to find us, led us out of death
To You alone belongs the highest praise

We lift up our eyes, lift up our eyes
You’re the Giver of Life

You alone can rescue, You alone can save
You alone can lift us from the grave
You came down to find us, led us out of death
To You alone belongs the highest praise."

What a Savior we have!!!
What a Savior I need!!!
