What is Soulful?

The online dictionary defines it as meaning:

"Full of or expressing deep feeling; profoundly emotional."

I think Mark Holter plays his sax soulfully. It is an outpouring from the fullness of his heart.

I made a quick study of the New Testament, looking for the word full. Here is how the bible described what Jesus and His followers were full of.

Luke 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert,

Luke 10:21
21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit,

John 1:14
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 17:13
13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.

Acts 6:3
3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom.

Acts 6:5
5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit;

Acts 6:8
Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.

James 3:17
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace- loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

I would like my Soul to be full.

Full of:
The Holy Spirit
Joy
Grace
Truth
Life
Wisdom
Faith
Power
Mercy.

Not that is what my soul longs for,

Joe
