As some of you may know, Jane and I are going to be grandparents. Our daughter Katy-Ruth and her husband Tyler are expecting a daughter of their own in early February. This weekend our entire family gathered in Denton for a football game at the new Stadium to watch the Mean Green of North Texas take on the Indiana Hoosiers. As we were enjoying the pre-game festivities, Katy-Ruth took my hand and placed it on her stomach and said, "feel this..... Melody is dancing." Sure enough, I got to feel our granddaughter do the two-step on the palm of my hand.
A miracle. Life. Make no mistake about it. While little Melody is our granddaughter, she is God's creation and masterpiece. And while we can't wait to meet and hold Melody in early February, our Father God already knows her completely and loves her in a way we can only hope to imitate. And by His Grace, we will.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mothers womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
Each one of us........a miracle.
Look around, they're everywhere.
