Summer is in full swing as evident by the hordes of children running around StoneBridge these past couple weeks. This week I’ve been helping out with the kids music camp as they present a patriotic musical called, “We the People”. For about 3 hours every day this week the kids have been dutifully showed up to learn songs and lines, practicing harmonies, motions, and counter melodies. Talk about some smart kids!
They sound great and have such enthusiasm as they express the five character qualities we are focusing on this week: Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness and Patience.
Kids have such unbridled enthusiasm about everything they do: sports, music, God. They have the ability to put their all into something and not care about what others may think.
Sometimes we, as adults, could learn a little something from children.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heavens belongs to such as these.”
I encourage anyone who is able to come out and support this fantastic group of children this Friday at 7pm as they present their musical that they are working on so diligently.
This week’s memory verse is
Hebrews 12: 28-29
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for out God is a consuming fire.
